The Ration Card is the official document that enables the family to receive a monthly food ration. The Ministry of Trade distributes the rations through supply agents in Ration supply centers in every Iraqi district.
How can I obtain the Ration Card for my family?

Visit the Ration Supply Center nearest to your residence.

Obtain an application form from the shops next to the Ration Supply Center. The agent in the center will help you fill out the application form.

Attach the filled form with the following documents:
a) Unified National Card or Civil Status ID for all family members (original and copy).
b) Residence Card or a support letter from Mukhtar.
c) A Copy of the old ration card.

Sign a written pledge showing that no family members listed on the ration card are deceased or outside Iraq.

The Ration Supply Center will give you a voucher replacing the Ration card and you can start receiving the food ration from the Ration supply center at the beginning of the next month.

You will receive the Ration Card from the ration supply center at the beginning of the next year.
Note: The fee for obtaining a Ration Card is 1,000 Iraqi dinars, while the fee for receiving a replacement voucher is 10,000 Iraqi dinars.
Duration of obtaining a Ration Card after applying?
The Ministry of Trade obtain the Ration Card annually and sends them to the ration supply center, at the beginning of each year.
If you apply to obtain a new card at any time of the year, in the next month, you will receive a voucher which replaces the Ration Card along with the food ration. You will receive the new ration card at the beginning of the next year.
How to Renew the Ration Card?

The Ministry of Trade will renew the Ration Card annually and send them to the ration supply center.

You need to visit the Ration Supply Center and bring the old Ration Card

Then you will need to provide the following documents:
a) Unified National ID or Civil Status ID for all family members (original and copy).
b) Residence card or a support letter from the mukhtar.

Sign a written pledge showing that none of the family members listed in the Ration card are deceased or outside Iraq.

Sign a written pledge that the family income is less than one million and five hundred Iraqi dinars., If the family income is more than this, they cannot receive a food ration.

What is the Ration Card ban, and how can I lift the ban?
The family Ration Card will be banned by the Ministry of Trade in Baghdad (Central Database Department) automatically if the family doesn’t receive the new Ration Card in the first two months of the new year from the ration supply center.
How to lift the ban?

Visit the Ration Supply Center near your residence.

Fill out the ban-lifting form (you can get it from the shops next to the ration supply centers).

Attach the following documents with the form you filled out:
a) Residence card or a support letter from the mukhtar confirming that the family resides in this region.
b) Civil status IDs or the Unified Card for all family members (original and copy).
c) The old Ration Card or a copy of it.

Sign a written pledge that the family income is less than one million and five hundred Iraqi dinars, if the family income is more than this, they cannot receive a food ration.

The Ration supply center will give you a letter to lift the ban and you will have to submit it to the Department of the Trade Ministry in your governorate.

How can I add children to the Ration Card?

Visit the Ration Supply Center near your residence.

Fill out the children's adding form (which can be found in the shops next to the Ration supply center), and attached the form with the following documents:
a)The child's civil status ID or unified national card (original and copy).
b) The family Ration Card (original and copy).

The ration supply center will send the file to the Ministry of Trade to complete the process of adding the child.

The added child will receive her/his ration of food per month after the adding process, but her/his name will be added to the renewed card that the family receives annually.
Note: The fee for Adding children to the Ration card is 1,000 Iraqi dinars.
How can we (remove/separate) family member names from the Ration Card?
In cases of death, the name of the deceased family member need to be removed from the Ration Card. While in case of a family member's marriage, custody, or divorce, the names need to be removed from the original Ration Card and have a separate Ration Card for themselves.
To separate or remove a name from the Ration Card, you must do the following steps:

Visit the Ration Supply Center near your residence.

Fill out the Ration Card separation/remove form (it can be obtained from the shops next to the ration supply center).

Attach the following Documents with the form:
a) Civil status ID or the unified card for family members who need to be removed or separated from the Ration Card (original and copy).
b) A copy of the original Ration Card.
c) Residence card or a support letter from the mukhtar confirming that the family resides.
d) A marriage contract from the court in case of marriage, the divorce letter in case of divorce, the custody letter in the case of custody of the children, or the death certificate in case of death (Original and copy).

The separated family members' portion will be

removed from the food ration starting the next month after removal, but their names will stay on the ration card until the family receives the new ration card at the beginning of the next year.
Note: the fee for the (remove/separate) family member names is 1,000 Iraqi dinars.
How we can transfer the food ration from our agent to another one?

You will need to provide the following documents:
a) Unified National card or Civil Status ID for all family members (original and copy).
b) Residence card or a support letter from Mukhtar confirming the location of the family residence.
c) A Copy of the ration card.
